It’s been a while since I wrote anything in here. I haven’t really had much to say lately. I have not done much interesting.
I want to write more, I might think of something I could do regularly. Maybe I start something inspired by Mothcub’s Good things of the week posts, which I find really entertaining.
So… what have I been up to?
I have been reading more lately, I read through Terry Pratchett’s Mistborn series. It was quite enjoyable. I have been reading some more Discworld, and I also finally finished The Wall, by Marlen Haushofer. I had a good time with all of them. Next, I was planning on reading either more Discworld (continue either the Watch or Death series probably), or a book I was recommended called Herald of the Storm, by Richard Ford.
I have been exercising a bit more regularly, although with the heat waves, its hard to find the energy. I do static bike, and sometimes put on a movie to watch while I do so. Feel free to check out my letterboxd if you want some possibly horrible movie opinions (I think I tend to rate everything too highly).
These last couple of weeks, I’ve been feeling quite apathetic. I dont generally feel like doing much that takes commitment, even if small, like a movie I’ve been meaning to watch for a while (Tokyo Story). I should force myself to start something, that often helps me break from that headspace.
Animation project
I started a little project to make little html/js/css based animations. There’s still quite a few things to work out (currently, animations are a dict of frame:animation, so limited to 1 animation per frame lmao), and I have to add more animation types, but I want to think of something I could do with it first.
At first I thought I could do a little top-down animation of a Coffee Shop I’ve been visiting quite a lot lately, as a way of thanking them for creating that nice, comfy, welcoming space, but I thought that might be a bit cringe :) Maybe I’ll do it anyways. Being cringe is fine sometimes.
It would also be nice to do something for some friends with their OCs, but I don’t really know what it could be.
Again, with the general apathy, it’s been hard to focus on anything, but I do want to get back to this at some point.
Games and stuff
I have also been playing some games, although I have not really… finished many? These are from the last few months.
- Lumentale, I got halfway through, but I got a bit… bored at some point. I might come back to it, but I could also see myself not doing so.
- Valkyria Chronicles, I gave another try, and I got relatively far this time (I finished chapter 12), but the game can be a bit of a drag, so I find it hard to continue. I am not having much fun with it at this point of the game.
- Voidling Bound. It’s very fun but I eventually basically created a god and was done with the game for now.
- The Adventures of Elliot. It’s pretty fun. Thanks, red link. Not a lot of puzzle solving, but it still scratched that itch.
- Despelote, that was a while ago, but I thought it was super cool and original. You should play it. Also Arco.
- Wax Heads, another absolutely amazing game. It was so cool to find a Valencian song in the OST as well. Really fun and heartwarming, very recommended.
That’s all folks
Anyways, not much to say, but I did end up writing more than I expected. I hope to come up with something to post regularly here, as I mentioned. Until then, take care.
